A graduate of MARKhI, the Moscow Architecture Institute, where she specialised in experimental architectural planning, artist and architect Anastasia Potemkina works both by herself and as part of the Urban Fauna Laboratory set up with artist Alex Buldakov. Studying the relationship and adaption between parasites and humans in urban environments, they have taken part in projects at the 2013 Bergen Assembly and 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale. In her own installations, photographs and drawings, Potemkina draws the eye to overlooked details of violence in the most banal of situations, tracking behavioural codes practiced across society.
