Artist, curator and writer Sergey Ogurtsov’s projects reflect on questions of time, labour and existence. In Empty Homes of Being (2008-2010), he takes key texts by writers such as Antonin Artaud and Gaston Bachelard and re-evaluates their cultural significance by transforming them through origami-like folds into delicate and intricate architectonic sculptures. Ogurtsov’s texts and essays appear in the Moscow Art Journal and the newspapers published by the Chto Delat? collective of artists, critics and philosophers.
