Dmitry Lookianov was born in Krasnodar but since 2000 has lived in Moscow, where until recently he studied at the Moscow Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia. His practice varies from straight-edged documentary to staged photography but is all the while connected to the topic of Russian architecture. Following on from the Moscow suburbs that inspired the fictional neighbourhood of Instant Tomorrow, Lookianov has travelled across Russia documenting its typical cityscapes in what will be a two-part project.
