Moscow-based architecture and urban planning consultants KB Strelka have launched an open call for Russian and international architecture firms to propose designs for public spaces in 15 Russian cities, in honour of the 2018 World Cup.
The participating cities are Astrakhan, Vladimir, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Izhevsk, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Lipetsk, Stavropol, Ryazan, Tomsk, Ulyanovsk, Khabarovsk, Cheboksary and Chelyabinsk.
A key public space (averaging seven hectares in area) with high development potential has been selected in each city as a starting point for city-wide development. The selected areas take in a range of public spaces, including parks, squares, streets and embankments.
Submissions will be open until 14 April. Find out more about the open call here (in Russian).
