Inspired by Soviet-era architecture, Russian jewellery brand Chu Ka is all about strong lines and bold aesthetics.
Founded in 2015 by Maria Churkina and Anastasia Kandoba, Chu Ka draws on constructivist icons in the provincial cities of Sverdlovsk and Yekaterinburg.
Each item recreates a regional landmark from plastic or sterling silver, using laser cutting and 3D printing. The distinctive forms play a starring role in the team’s latest lookbook, shot by Maxim Loskutov under the glare of an x-ray machine.
Each piece is named after its urban namesake: from the city’s Belaya Water Tower to the Dinamo sport complex.
