Moscow officials have revealed a new sneak peak of the Russian capital’s latest designer park.

Due to open next month, Tyufeleva Roscha features an artificial blue lagoon and a shaded pergola stretching for more than a kilometre. There will also be a children’s playground and an amphitheatre with seats for 100.

The 10-hectare park was created in partnership with Dutch-American architect Jerry Van Eyck, as part of ongoing regeneration at the former ZIL factory site in the south of the capital.

The factory produced lorries and limousines throughout the Soviet era and until the early 2010s, when Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin decided to transform the space into a hub for creative businesses. The building is now home to an experimental theatre collective, with the Hermitage Museum also interested in opening a new Moscow branch inside.

Plans are also underway to build homes for more than 38,000 people in the area, with project due to be completed by 2025.
