Vogue Italia transforms remote Russian village for high fashion photo shoot

17 September 2018

The remote Arctic village of Chikinskaya has been catapulted into the pages of Vogue Italia after providing the latest exotic location for the magazine’s high-style photo shoots.

Shot by British photographer Johnny Dufort and starring Turkish model Günce Gözütok, the photos are set to feature in the September issue of the iconic fashion mag.

Russian stylist Lotta Volkova was also on hand during the shoot, transforming models with her signature painted faces and fake moustaches.

With its rustic churches and untouched landscapes, Chikinskaya is seven hours drive from the regional capital of Arkhangelsk, and 1,500 km from Moscow.
