Photographers from Siberia are invited to participate in a new photo prize that aims to explore the region in the modern world. The award is organised by Makers of Siberia, an online platform and guide to contemporary Siberia, with the theme of “The Present”.The organisers are looking for photos that address or reflect on life in Siberia now.
The photo prize includes two nominations, Series and Solo Image, and the jury includes Elena Anosova, a Siberian photographer and World Press Photo award winner, Ekow Eshun, the creative director of Calvert 22 Foundation, Oksana Budulak, a Krasnoyarsk-based curator, and Alnis Stakle, Latvian photographer and winner of the New East Photo Prize.
Prizes include the chance to participate in the Les Rencontres de la Photographie photography festival in Arles, France, as well as exhibitions in Siberia and St Petersburg, workshops, and online publication on The Calvert Journal, a partner of the photo prize.
The deadline for applications from photographers is 1 July 2019.
