A team of Ukrainian musicians have harnessed the power of the country’s Carpathian mountains to create a new composition powered by natural flowing water.
Called The Voice of Water, the piece saw music engineers and designers create six musical instruments powered entirely through the movement of water.
A team of 100 professionals worked on the composition for more than nine months, travelling some 20,000 kilometres across the mountains. The track also features Ukrainian musicians DakhaBrakha, ONUKA, KATYA CHILLY, and The Maneken.
The company behind the project, Ukrainian bottled water brand Morshynska, said that they wanted the piece to highlight the importance of conserving Ukraine’s natural resources.
The firm will also be donating money to WWF Ukraine from the sale of each of their limited edition Voice of Water bottles.
“The goal of the project is to preserve the unique beauty of Ukrainian nature. We want to draw people’s attention to the need to respect the nature of the Carpathian mountains,” said Natalya Revika, marketing director at Morshynska.
