Into the woods: Budapest’s Kolorádó Festival announces line-up for June 2019

15 May 2019

Kolorádó, Hungary’s boutique arts and music festival, is returning to the woods on the outskirts of Budapest this summer.

The festival, a low-key getaway often compared with Sziget — Hungary’s (and Europe’s) biggest — bills itself as a weekend for music lovers who also want to commune with nature. For its fourth edition, it will present an experimental line-up that runs the gamut from shoegaze and folk to techno and electronica in the forest near the Buda hills.

The eclectic line-up includes international acts like Kurt Vile & The Violators, Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, and Ben UFO, alongside a selection of local Hungarian talent including indie band The Moog.

Aside from the music, attendees can also enjoy a programme of talks, workshops, and installations organised in collaboration with Budapest’s Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.

Kolorádó Festival will run from 19-22 June. Visit their website for more info and tickets, and for more to do while you’re in Hungary’s capital, check out our guide to Budapest.
