A Russian production studio has recreated the gradually folding cityscapes of Christopher Nolan’s Inception against the backdrop of the country’s most famous landmarks.
Led by studio founder Artem Prudentov, the team created the mind-bending images by programming their drones to take multiple sweeping shots of the landscape in semi-automatic mode. Honing the final result meant taking thousands of shots in a bid to get the programming just right.
Each individual image took 12 hours of work to complete, says Prudentov. “The resulting images look majestic,” he says. “It creates a feeling of huge divide between the forces of nature and those of man.”
