Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) has unveiled the company’s winning design for a new railway terminal in the heart of Tallinn, the Estonian capital.
Working with the local studio Esplan, ZHA will build the starting point for the future Rail Baltica line: an 870 km electrified railway connecting Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius with the European high-speed rail network.
The plans for the new Ülemiste Terminal consist of a sleek, silver leaf-shaped building, combining a public footbridge over Tallinn’s streets with a full transport hub for rail, bus, and tram lines.
