If you’re desperate for a bite-sized chunk of inner peace, then Russian photographer Dmitry Yagovkin is here to deliver. His Instagram account, @diminimal, celebrates urban architecture bathed in moonlight, or lit from the haze of city lights.

By focusing on a single detail — whether that’s a straight line, a repetitive pattern, or a single brightly lit window in the darkness, Diminimal finds magic in the city.

Moscow, with its eclectic architecture, ranging from Soviet brutalist blocks to more recent glass towers, or buildings in the making, is Yagovkin’s main set. And while Yagovkin does also take pics against a clear blue sky, or colourful sunsets, it’s the dark night skies that set his aesthetic apart.
