Watch Russia’s best indie musicians perform from their homes

Delivery Destination is an hour-long film bringing together Russia’s indie artists for a series of gigs from their own home.

Directed by video artist Pavel Kling, the clip brings together performances from musicians who’ve seen concerts cancelled thanks to the Covid-19 lockdown. It features improvisations by artists like Kate NV, Zhenya Gorbunov, Dima Midbourne, Cyril Gorodny from Pasosh, Zurkas Tepla, and Maria Teriaeva.

These intimate gigs give viewers a glimpse into the artists’ homes and everyday lives. Kling was inspired to make the film after Kate NV asked him to film her for an Instagram advert for the Paris gallery Lafayette Anticipations.

“I took my favorite Canon FS100 and drove over,” Kling said in an interview. “While we filmed everything, I was very impressed with the space she had at home: the light shining in from the windows, all of the artifacts and objects that worked as props, the neighbour’s dog Arm who ran into the frame. In short, it was as if I had walked in to a set which I didn’t control, but could still simply notice and enjoy. Nothing special was happening, but there was this energy rushing through it all. On the way home, I decided that I needed to do a project about my favourite musicians in self-isolation.”
