Watch the trailer for Kirill Serebrennikov’s latest film Petrov’s Flu

Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov has dropped the trailer for his latest film, Petrov’s Flu.

The film had been due to premiere at this year’s Cannes Festival, but will now show in 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Petrov’s Flu follows a day in the life of a Russian car mechanic, his family, and friends, and is a film adaptation of the 2018 bestseller The Petrovs In and Around the Flu by Alexey Salnikov.

Serebrennikov worked on the film while under house arrest in Moscow on fraud charges. He was found guilty by a Russian court in late June and handed a suspended sentence. The case has drawn widespread criticism from human rights groups and cultural figures who have condemned the case as politically motivated.
