The city of Vilnius has offered 100 outdoor billboards to display work from Lithuanian artists in an effort to help them boost sales post-lockdown.

More than 500 artists submitted their work for the three-week exhibition, funded by the city municipality and outdoor advertising firm, JCDecaux Lietuva. Artworks that didn’t make it into the final 100 will still be displayed digitally on the website of the tourism agency Go Vilnius. There is also a map to help visitors navigate through the outdoor show.

The exhibition follows Lithuania’s three-month lockdown to stem the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw galleries and museums close, and left many artists struggling to make ends meet.
