An experimental video shows Kyiv through the eyes of Gen Z

“Everything is only just starting out for us, and there are many things that need to be changed,” says artist Margarita Polovinko. She is one of the young creatives featured in the short film Kyiv Education, showing the Ukrainian capital through the eyes of Generation Z.

Shot and directed by Kyiv-born, London-based Lada Kopytova and Lisa Kochanova, Kyiv Education captures what, in their eyes, makes their hometown special: the influence it has on young people.

Combining soft electronic tunes from emerging Ukrainian bands, excerpts of philosophical interviews with young creatives, and clothes from Ukrainian designers, the video is a fresh, eclectic snapshot of the lives, motives, and ambitions of Kyiv’s Gen Z.
