The international forum Art Moscow Online is opening today with a series of talks and interviews from high-profile artists, curators, collectors, and museum heads from around the world.
Among the highlights are online interviews with British documentary photographer Martin Parr, filmmaker and writer Martha Fiennes, who has recently made an AI project with actor Salma Hayek, Ukrainian visual artist Alexander Ponomarev, and Chinese performance artist and painter Zhang Huan.
The directors of Florence’s Uffizi and St Petersburg’s Hermitage museums will also join staff from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum to discuss the role of influencers and Instagram in the art world. Titled Beyonce effect. Who Sets the Fashion for Art?, the talk will examine the impact of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s video Apeshit, filmed in Paris’ most famous gallery, on visits to the Louvre museum.
In Digital Art Manifesto of the New Normal Era, Pierre Fautrel, from the Obvious French art collective, who create works using AI algorithms, Italian artist Quayola, and Christina Steinbrecher-Pfandt, an expert in the blockchain application on the art market, will analyse the trends and development of digital art.
If you’ve missed the live talks, don’t worry. Video recordings will be available tonight, from 8pm GMT. Find out more here.
