Russian photographer and journalist Vladimir Alekseev is the overall winner of the 2020 Travel Photographer of the Year competition.

Selected out of 25,000 images from 147 countries, Alekseev’s portfolio of wildlife in Russia, Greenland, Myanmar, and Norway scooped the top prize for its “glorious mixture of landscapes, wildlife and people, showcasing the diversity of skill possessed by the Russian photographer”.

In addition to Alekseev, Sergey Pesterev’s monumental photos of the Lake Baikal during wintertime were commended in the Landscapes and Earth Elements Portfolio category.
