The Calvert Journal wins best designed site at the Drum Online Media Awards

The Calvert Journal has won the prize for best designed site at the Drum Online Media Awards.

The magazine was also nominated for best specialist news site and best local/regional news site, where it was highly commended by judges.

Russia Z, The Calvert Journal’s project showcasing the creative voice and vision of the country’s young adults, also scooped a nomination for editorial campaign of the year.

In the best designed site category, The Calvert Journal faced off against Al Jazeera’s 101 East — My Son, The Stranger, an interactive comic telling the story of an elderly Japanese mother and her reclusive son. Nominees in the other categories included CNN, Business Insider, and Mixmag.
