Calling graphic design aficionados around the world: if you’re looking for inspiration, @postersinprague provides updates of poster art in the Czech capital in real time.

Graphic designer Simon Gregar set up the account in 2013 as an archive of poster art in his home city. “I loved how posters are changing all the time and I kept searching for the good ones. I was looking for a way to store the pictures and to share them with others so they can get inspiration as well,” he told us. “I also noticed a particular poster culture developing throughout the city, for galleries and events. The trends definitely include minimalism, edge using, and distortion of headlines, as well as huge text that gets distorted… but history also keeps repeating itself,” he added.

On the historical front, one of the most influential Czech poster artists featured in the page is Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939), whose stylised, Art Nouveau, theatrical posters have gained him world fame.
