The trailer for Lost Birds, the first film made in Turkey about the Armenian genocide, has been released.
The film tells the story of a young brother and sister who were left behind during the mass deportation of Armenians from Constantinople in 1915.
A joint venture of Armenian director Aren Perdeci and Turkish director Ela Alyamac, Lost Birds is a landmark for Turkish cinema and will be released later this year to mark the 100th anniversary of the tragedy.
The Armenian Genocide occurred when two million Armenians living in Turkey were eliminated from their historic homeland through forced deportations and massacres between 1915 and 1918.
