Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka commemorated his 10th spacewalk by taking a selfie from the International Space Station.

Although the photo was taken on 10 August, it was not published on the Twitter page of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) until 17 August.

Mr Padalka, 57, has set a number of space records, such as for the longest total time spent in space. As of today (19 August), he has spent a total of 860 days orbiting the Earth. Whilst he did not break any records by taking a “space selfie”, Mr Padalka joins a very small group of people who have achieved such a feat.
