The Museum of Fine Arts in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz capital, is set to host a range of exhibitions on the theme “East-West Dialogues” from 10 to 20 September.

The festival organisers aim to promote cultural cooperation and exchange, and particularly creativity among young people.

Among the events in the festival programme will be photography exhibitions, flashmobs, lectures, a jewellery exhibition, and a large concert.

In line with the international theme of the festival, German photographer and Würzburg University professor Dieter Leistner will showcase his works, along with Kyrgyz photographers Shailo Jekshenbayev and Dmitry Lysogorov and jeweller Victor Syrnev. In addition, more than 20 young photographers from Europe and Kyrgyzstan will be featured in the exhibitions.

The events will take place as part of the second “Stars of the Silk Road” International Arts Festival, organised by service organisation Lions Clubs International.
