Activists from Czech guerilla art collective Ztohoven have replaced the flag flying above the presidential palace in Prague with a large pair of red underpants, in an act of protest against President Miloš Zeman.
The three men climbed onto the roof of the castle on Saturday, gaining access by dressing as chimney sweeps.
The group said in a statement that the flag is fitting “for a man who is not ashamed of anything”, while a presidential spokesman condemned their actions as a “desecration of state symbols”. The statement by Ztohoven also included criticism of President Zeman for his close ties to China and Russia, citing Mr Zeman’s support for “dubious dictators”.
The pants were swiftly removed by security and the activists were arrested.
