A photo exhibition devoted to the rights of women with disabilities is set to open on 9 October in the Kyrgyzstani capital, Bishkek.

The exhibition, organised by non-governmental organisation Equality (Ravenstvo) with the support of the Ministry of Social Development of Kyrgyzstan, aims to raise awareness of the rights of disabled women in Kyrgyzstan. There will be a particular focus on the reproductive rights of these women.

The organisers hope that the photo stories will help to reduce prejudice against women with disabilities in the country by breaking commonly held stereotypes.

The exhibition will run from 9 – 11 October.
