Winner of “Moscow Cake” competition revealed

Walnut and condensed milk cake has been chosen to represent Moscow and bear the name of the Russian capital, after an extensive competition.

The winner was announced on Friday 9 October, after selection by a jury made up of restaurateurs, confectioners, chefs and frequent voters in “Active Citizen”, an initiative that aims to allow Muscovites to take part in governing their city.

Three finalists were chosen by a public vote from a selection of 80 recipes, which took place both on the internet and offline.

The top three cakes are: walnut cake with condensed milk, chocolate and cranberry biscuit cake, and pistachio and cherry mousse cake.
