Estonian town unveils huge Christmas tree made of coloured windows

26 November 2015

The northern Estonian town of Rakvere has decorated its square with a “tree” made of old coloured windows.

The installation, which stands at 12 metres high, was built by carpentry students of a nearby vocational school and designed by local artist Teet Suur.

This is the second year in which students from the school have been given the task of constructing a Christmas installation from recycled materials. Last year the square hosted an environmentally friendly tree made out of waste wood from local sawmills.
