“Leaders Number One”, a new scent for men inspired by Russian president Vladimir Putin, has gone on sale in Russia.

Created by Belarusian-born perfumer Vladislav Rekunov, the scent has notes of lemon, bergamot, blackcurrant and fir cones.

“It’s a warm scent, a textured scent. It’s soft but at the same time it’s very firm,” Mr Rekunov stated.

The limited-edition perfume, which comes in a black bottle bearing the profile of Mr Putin, has gone on sale at Moscow’s luxury GUM department store for 6,500 rubles (approx. US$95). A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to help disabled children. A women’s version is expected to be released later in the year.
