Kyrgyz President establishes council for preservation and development of national culture

President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev has created a council for the preservation and development of national culture.

The сouncil, which will be headed by Mr Atambayev, will develop recommendations for the protection and further development of national culture and aim to increase the efficiency of government agencies and other organisations in bringing national culture to Kyrgyz citizens, as well as work to attract academics and other experts to be involved in the formulation and implementation of cultural policy.

In addition to the Kyrgyz President, the council is also made up of creative intellectuals, public figures and representatives from government agencies and the media.
