NGO ArtsCouncil Azerbaijan is set to establish a virtual animation museum, a large database of national cartoons from the 1960s – 1990s.
“The virtual museum will provide an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of the old animated films, learn about the Azerbaijani producers and see historical photos,” the director of ArtsCouncil Azerbaijan, Dadash Mammadov, stated.
The project will include such favourite local cartoons as Jirtdan, perhaps the most popular and beloved fairy tale in Azerbaijan, which centres on a child, very small for his age, who finds strength in being intelligent, as well as Shah and Servant, A Human Comes to the Forest, Princess of Oil, and the country’s first cartoon-opera, Beautiful Fatma.
The project is organised by NGO ArtsCouncil Azerbaijan and supported by the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation. It will be named after animator Nazim Mammadov.
