The Armenian Ministry of Culture has launched a competition to find a logo and slogan for its 25th anniversary of independence.

According to the Ministry of Culture’s press service, entries will be accepted in the form of sketches, which should be in both colour and black and white versions, or in an electronic format. The winner will be chosen by a dedicated commission.

The winning entry will serve as the official logo and slogan for the anniversary celebrations, and its creator will win a prize of 500,000 dram (approx. US$1,010). The runner-up will receive 350,000 dram (approx. US$710). Applications are being accepted until 10 March.

Armenia gained widespread recognition of its independence after the formal dissolution of the Soviet Union on 25 December 1991, having declared its full independence on 21 September 1991 following a referendum.
