The National Museum of Kraków has launched a call for entries to its communist-inspired fashion competition.
The competition, which is running in parallel to the museum’s ongoing exhibition on fashion in communist Poland and as an accompaniment to Cracow Fashion Week (5—12 March), invites members of the public to submit photographs of models showcasing designs inspired by communist aesthetics.
It is anticipated that the top 20 winners, as selected by experts, will take part in a fashion show, and that the top five entries will receive special prizes. Entries will be accepted until 1 March.
Until 17 April 2016 the National Museum of Kraków is hosting an exhibition entitled FASHIONable in Communist Poland, offering an exploration of the unique character of fashion in Poland during the post-war decades.
