Made in Kazan, a two-day programme of masterclasses by prominent international urbanists, opens tomorrow in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan in Russia.

From 26 – 27 May Kazan will host the fifth edition of the educational forum, devoted to the issues of urbanisation, urban public transport, branding and tourism marketing.

Urbanists and experts, including former and current mayors of some of the world’s major cities are due to take part, with participants due to arrive from the United States, Great Britain, France, Greece, Spain, Singapore, India and South Africa.

Lectures will be given by Richard Florida, an American urbanist, economist and author of the concept of the “creative class”, as well as Vukan R. Vuchic, who is a public transport expert, a professor of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, former mayor of London Ken Livingstone and Spanish architect Josep Acebillo are due to speak, among others.
