Moscow’s Garage Museum of Contemporary Art has launched a new scholarship to support young artists working with IT, engineering and science-art.

Winners of the grant, to be decided by an expert panel, will receive a monthly stipend of 30,000 rubles (approx. $470) and will have the opportunity to be involved in the museum’s exhibitions and educational programmes.

“Scholarships are a new practice in Russia that I hope will give us another generation of artists. For Garage this is an important step in supporting contemporary art and creating a new environment in Russia, along with other initiatives, such as the publishing programme and the first triennial of contemporary Russian art, which will be held in March 2017,” said the founder of Garage, Daria Zhukova.

Applications are open to artists up to the age of 35.
