The historic Uzbek city of Khiva will welcome dancers from all over the world next week for the Magic of Dance Festival.
Participants will include an array of local and international dance groups and ensembles, including from the different regions of Uzbekistan.
The festival is set to include individual performances by the participating groups, master classes, theatre performances, a national costume parade and a national cuisine festival. In addition, the Academy of Arts and “Uzbekraks” creative association will present the History of the Dance Art of Uzbekistan photo exhibition.
The setting for the festival, Khiva, is known for its rich history. Its walled inner town, Itchan Kala, was the first site in Uzbekistan to be inscribed in the World Heritage List.
The Magic of Dance Festival will take place from 15 – 17 July.
