Russian designer Dmitry Pantyushin has recently released Dima Pantyushin. Posters for Motocafe “Enthusiast” 2013-2016, a book of fascinating posters originally designed for a small cult cafe in Moscow.
According to Russian magazine The Blue Print, the new book is particularly interesting, in that Pantyushin’s posters have a hint of Rodchenko in them and are reminiscent of the satirical Rosta windows (stencil-replicated propaganda posters) of Soviet Russia and of murals seen in Soviet wall newspapers, yet seem remarkably modern.
The posters were originally designed for Motocafe Enthusiast, a small cult cafe in central Moscow. It is famous for its interior and its clientele — fashion designer Gosha Rubchinsky, for example, has been known to spend evenings there with his skater friends, along with the editor-in-chief of GQ Russia.
The limited edition book, of which only 250 copies are available, features 299 posters made over a three year period. It can be purchased at the cafe upon request.
