Adventure to the moon: Russian space dogs cartoon gets US release

Russian animation Space Dogs: Adventure to the Moon is set to be released in the US this month.

The cartoon will come out in at least 50 cinemas after the national premiere on 26 August, timed to coincide with International Dog Day. A number of prominent cinema chains will screen the movie, including AMC, Megaplex and Ultra Star, while stars such as Alicia Silverstone and Kira Buckland will feature in the voiceover for the American version of the film.

Space Dogs: Adventure to the Moon (dir. Inna Evlannikova and Svyatoslav Ushakov) is the second installation in a series of Russian-made animated movies based on Soviet space dogs Belka and Strelka. The cartoon was released in Russia in 2014.
