Catch a premiere screening of Drawing in Space, Drawing in Time (2016) by Polish artist and film maker Marta Michałowska at London’s Whitechapel Gallery on 8 September.

Drawing in Space, Drawing in Time examines two very distinctive approaches to drawing in artists’’ work, featuring Meghana Bisineer (animation) and Julian Wild (sculpture) in conversation about creativity and artistic ideas.

The film will be screened alongside Without, Michałowska’s filmic triptych made up of Without Reflection (2011/15), Without Shadow (2011/15) and Without (2016).

“The film was prompted by an image I saw on my arrival in the family home after the death of my father and before his burial. The image provoked an exploration of death and loss. It is a meditation on grief,” says Michałowska.

Michałowska will take part in a Q&A after the screening.

The screening, supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, will take place on Thursday 8 September at 7pm. You can buy tickets here.
