Disney and Warsaw design group bring Mickey Mouse to life in interactive installation

23 September 2016

Check out Mickeyphon, an interactive, audiovisual, kinetic sculpture inspired by Mickey Mouse, created by Warsaw new media design group panGenerator, in collaboration with Disney in Poland.

panGenerator were given the task of creatively reinterpreting Mickey: their response was the interactive installation Mickeyphon, most clearly taking inspiration from the mouse’s iconic ears.

Mickeyphon takes in the sounds in its surroundings, rotating in the direction of the source and using the sounds to create rhythmic musical sequences — in this way, the audience plays an active part in producing the final sound. The sound system is accompanied by interactive visuals on Mickeyphon‘s display.

Mickeyphon has been on display at many events across Poland and central and eastern Europe, including film, music and design festivals.
