Who knew fences could be both musical and patriotic?

27 September 2016

If you ask us, there aren’t enough musical fences around. Particularly ones with a sense of national pride.

This feeling seems to be shared by the eastern Croatian city of Vukovar, where a new fence has been installed that plays the national anthem.

Ok, so the fence itself doesn’t play it. But its 35 vertical steel bars act as an instrument which produce the melody of the Croatian national anthem when struck.

If you fancy playing a fence-based rendition of Croatia’s Lijepa Naša Domovino (Our Beautiful Homeland), head to Vukovar’s science park.
