Yakutian film My Murderer has been nominated for the Golden Globes Best Foreign Film award.
Directed by Kostas Marsan, the film is based on real events. It focuses on the work of a young detective who sets out to investigate a seemingly easy murder case in the remote Siberian region of Yakutsk and encounters various controversies and puzzles that lead him to the Yakutian gold mines.
Previously the Golden Blobes’ Best Foreign Film was awarded to Andrei Zvyaginstev’s drama Leviathan in 2015. My Murderer is also in the official selection of the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles, and has won several festival awards in Russia.
