Those lucky enough to have an insect-related name can enjoy a 50% discount to the Moscow Zoo in November. The promotion coincides with the Small People in the Big World of Insects exhibition that consists of large mechanised models of insects.

Insect-related named are quite a thing in Russia. Some of the most famous examples include Princess Elizaveta Tarakanova, whose name means “cockroach”, Russian actress Irina Muravyova (ant), and theatre director Konstantin Bogomolov (praying mantis).

Visitors can claim their discount at the box office by bringing a form of identification. The zoo will also keep record of the surnames and will announce the most widespread insect surname at the end of the month.
