Spectral: Budapest in Netflix starring role

The Hungarian capital is set to leap onto our screens tomorrow as Netflix releases Spectral, a new sci-fi thriller.

According to the film’s synopsis, Spectral is set in a nameless “European city” — nonetheless, you can expect to see some key Budapest sights, including Gellért Hill, St Stephen’s Basilica, and Elisabeth Bridge.

Be warned though, if the trailer is anything to go by, the movie sees the city largely destroyed — unless your trip to the city featured some unexpected supernatural activity, you probably won’t find yourself reminiscing on an idyllic break.
