If you happen to be passing through Novorossiysk, a town on the Black Sea coast of Russia, prepare yourself for a serious holiday mood injection.
One of the town’s marshrutkas, a regular commercial minibus service, is decorated for the New Year and Christmas holidays with a tree, a holiday food and drinks spread, and the driver is dressed as Father Frost, the post-Soviet version of Santa Claus. The champagne served is non-alcoholic and there is festive music playing.
The festive decorations are said to be the driver’s initiative – this is the second year in a row that he has spruced up the marshrutka for the holidays.
The bus serves the city’s route 21.
