Russia and Pula named top destinations for 2017

Russia and the Croatian city of Pula have been listed among the top 20 destinations to visit in 2017 by UK newspaper The Telegraph.

According to the list, the centenary of the 1917 revolutions makes 2017 is an exciting time to visit Russia. While the guide does not pick out a specific city, Moscow and St Petersburg are suggested as good starting points, allowing visitors to take in such significant revolutionary sites as the room in the Winter Palace where the Bolsheviks took power.

Despite its coastal location, the list recommends Pula not as a seaside destination but as a place to immersive yourself in history. Set on the tip of Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula, Pula’s architecture reflects its rich history. The city boasts an impressive Roman arena, as well as a range of stunning Habsburg-era buildings.

Among those joining Russia and Pula on the list of top destinations for 2017 were Bermuda, Peru and Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar. Check out the full list here.
