Croatia lands starring role in hit Indian film

3 February 2017

The more keen-eyed Indian film fans among you might have noticed that a number of scenes from popular action movie Khaidi No. 150 were filmed far from Hyderabad, where much of the movie was shot. Instead, Croatia serves as the backdrop for the film’s elaborate dance numbers.

One of the most successful films in India this month, Khaidi No. 150 transports audiences to the picture-perfect coastal town of Primošten, the St Nicholas Fortress in Šibenik, the waterfalls of Krka National Park and historic Dubrovnik, where the dances were filmed over six days towards the end of 2016.

According to the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the film starring Chiranjeevi and Kajal Aggarwal has earned over $17 million dollars at the box office since its release on 11 January, with the trailer gaining over 6 million views.
