Check out Lake Baikal’s 200-tonne Ice Library of Wonders

Russia’s Lake Baikal is now home to the world’s first ice library.

The “Ice Library of Wonders” is no ordinary library. Made up of over 400 ice blocks designed to resemble open books, you won’t find any novels there — the library’s reading material consists of hopes and dreams inscribed on the huge ice blocks in a variety of languages, contributed by around 1,000 people from across the world.

When spring comes the ice will melt and flow into the lake — this is when the wishes will come true, according to the organisers.
