Premiere: listen to brand new tracks from Oblast’s rereleased house compilation

Samara-based independent label Oblast bring out their limited edition, sold-out cassette compilation with local house producers Caapi and Nissan Groove in vinyl later this month. The Calvert Journal brings you an exclusive premiere of two of the brand new bonus tracks on the record, which is being released together with London label Purely Physical.

The record marries Caapi’s distinctive minimal sound with hip-hop-influenced lo-fi tracks by Nissan Groove. The sleeve artwork was produced by another local artist, illustrator Stas Shupikov.

Expect more electrifying complications from Oblast in 2017 — “This year we’d really like to release a joint record by Spurv and Bamma Gamma, who are doing interesting things at the moment,” they told The Calvert Journal.
