On 22 March London’s ICA will host “Defining a Post-Soviet Aesthetic in Fashion”, exploring the incorporation of Soviet iconography and 1990s Russian streetwear into western fashion over recent years.
Presented by fashion historian Djurdja Bartlett (London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London), the evening will see a panel discussion with Moscow-based designers Asiya Bareeva and Artur Lomakin, and photographer Turkina Faso, examine just what the so-called “post-Soviet” aesthetic might be.
